〘Noun〙 A haiku poem written in the yakko language that was popular in Edo in the early modern period. It appears in documents already in the Jo-o period (1652-55 ), and while many are works by Edo haiku poets, there are also works by Tachiho in Kyoto. The most famous is "Eiri Seijuro Tsuizen Yatsuko Haikakai," compiled by Katoku and printed by Sadaoki, published in 1667. *Hyaku Monogatari (1659), Vol. 1 "When I heard that people were crying, saying yakko haikakai" Source: The Selected Edition of the Japanese Language Dictionary About the Selected Edition of the Japanese Language Dictionary Information |
