A manga by Miura Kentaro. A dark fantasy depicting Guts, a one-eyed, one-armed swordsman clad in black armor and wielding a giant sword, set in a fictional world reminiscent of medieval Europe. It was serialized in the November 1988 issue of Monthly Comicomi, Animal House from the October 1989 issue to the March 1992 issue, and Young Animal from issue 11 of 1992 onwards. It won the Excellence Award at the 6th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize (2002). An anime series was broadcast on Nippon Television from 1997 to 1998, and a trilogy of anime films was released in 2012 to 2013.

三浦建太郎による漫画作品。中世ヨーロッパ的な架空世界で、巨大な剣をもち、黒い武装に身を包んだ隻眼隻腕の剣士・ガッツを描く、ダーク・ファンタジー。『月刊コミコミ』1988年11月号、『アニマルハウス』1989年10月号～1992年3月号、『ヤングアニマル』1992年第11号～連載。第6回（2002年）手塚治虫文化賞マンガ優秀賞受賞。1997年～1998年日本テレビ系列でアニメが放映され、2012年～2013年劇場用アニメが3部作で公開された。
