A working hours system in which workers are free to decide when they start and finish their work within a set time period. In Germany, it is called gleitende Arbeitzeit, and in the UK and the US, it is called flexible working hours. Generally, it consists of a core time during which all workers must work, and flexible time, which is left to the worker's choice. By leaving it up to each worker to decide their own working hours, the aim is to respect the private lives of workers, revitalize the workforce, and reduce overtime work.
