1868‐1939 Swedish philosopher. Professor at Uppsala University. In his epistemology, he criticizes Kant's subjectivism and rejects metaphysics, and in his value theory, he argues that traditional normative ethics are impossible as a science and takes a metaethical stance. The basis for his denial of metaphysics is the logical contradiction of a single thing belonging to two realities at the same time - the world of time and space and the metaphysical world. For example, the proposition of the existence of God violates the law of contradiction because an entity that does not belong to the world of time and space exists in the world of time and space.
