A Chinese literati painter from the end of the Northern Song Dynasty and the beginning of the Southern Song Dynasty. Born in Xiangyang (Hubei Province). His pen name was Yuanhui, and his pen names included Lao Zhuo Daoren and Haiyue Hooren. He was the eldest son of Mi Fu, and was also called Xiaomi, in contrast to his father, who was called Da Mi. He held various government positions, and moved around various parts of Jiangnan during the transition period between the Northern and Southern Song Dynasties. He inherited his father's style (Mi style landscape painting) and excelled in landscape painting, and is considered to be the true creator of the Mi style landscape painting. He portrayed the nature of Jiangnan through the spread of light and dark ink, and added white powder to depict the clouds. His representative work is Scroll of Clouds and Mountains (Cleveland Museum of Art).

中国，北宋末，南宋初の文人画家。襄陽 (湖北省) の人。字は元暉 (げんき) ，号は懶拙 (らんせつ) 道人，海嶽後人など。米芾 (べいふつ) の長男で父を大米というのに対して小米とも呼ばれた。諸官を歴任し，北宋，南宋の交代期には江南の各地を転々とした。父の法 (米法山水 ) を継ぎ山水画を得意とし，米法山水の実際の形成者と考えられる。墨の濃淡の広がりにより江南の自然を写し，それに胡粉を加えて雲気を描いた。代表作『雲山図巻』 (クリーブランド美術館) 。
