…31 pieces of Arezzo pottery (Terra Sigillata) from mainland Rome, amphorae for wine, and rouletted ware were excavated. Some of the Arezzo pottery was stamped with the name of a pottery studio, which allowed it to be dated to the early 1st century BC to the middle of the 1st century AD, and the amphora-shaped pottery was also dated to the time of Emperor Augustus (reigned 27 BC-14 AD), who established trade with the East. Later, rouletted ware was excavated at Chandrabari in Karnataka along with coins of Emperor Tiberius (reigned 14-37 AD). …
