Japanese: 兵範記 - へいはんき

This is the diary of Taira Nobunori, Minister of War in the late Heian period. It can also be read as "Hyohanki" and is also called "Heishinki" or "Heihyobuki" after the author's name. The entries span the years from 1132 to 1171, and some handwritten copies have survived, but much is missing. Nobunori was the uncle of Taira no Kiyomori's wife Shitsu Tokiko, and the diary gives insight into the political situation at the end of the Heian period, including the Hogen Rebellion. It is also known for the large number of documents written on the reverse side of the paper used in "Hyohanki." → Taira Tokiko → Related item Hojosho

平安時代末期の兵部卿(ひょうぶきょう)平信範(のぶのり)の日記。〈ひょうはんき〉とも読み，筆者の名から《平信記(へいしんき)》《平兵部記》などともいう。記載は1132年から1171年に及び，自筆本が一部伝存するが，欠落も多い。信範は平清盛の室(しつ)時子の叔父で，保元(ほうげん)の乱などをはじめとする平安末期の政治情勢などを知ることができる。《兵範記》の料紙の裏面に書かれた紙背(しはい)文書（裏文書）が多数見られることでも知られる。→平時子
