Chinese painter and calligrapher in the late Ming Dynasty. His pen name was Zhongzhao, and his pen names included Youshi and Shiyin. His ancestors were from Guanzhong (Shaanxi Province), and his father moved to Beijing. In 1595, he became a Jinshi (official scholar), and rose to the position of Taibo Si Shaoqing. His paintings are said to have been influenced by Fan Kuan and Wang Meng, but there is a wide stylistic variation in his extant works, with many that seem to have been influenced by the Zhejiang school, and others that show a highly individual style. As a calligrapher, he was known alongside Xing Dong, Zhang Ruitu, and Dong Qichang as "Xing, Zhang, Mi, Dong" or "Southern Dong, North America." His books include "Collection of Writings by Chengdan Hall."

中国，明末の画家，書家。字は仲詔，号は友石，石隠など。祖先は関中 (陝西省) の人で，父の代に北京に移る。万暦 23 (1595) 年進士となり，官は太僕寺少卿にいたった。絵は范寛，王蒙を学んだと評されたが，現存作品の様式的振幅は大きく，浙派 (せっぱ) を学んだと思われる作品や，きわめて個性的な画風を示すものも多い。書家としては邢侗，張瑞図，董其昌 (とうきしょう) とともに「邢，張，米，董」あるいは「南董，北米」と並称された。著書に『澄澹堂文集』などがある。
