693－770 A nobleman from the Nara period.
Born in the 7th year of the reign of Empress Jitō. Grandson of Emperor Tenmu. Prince of Nagano. Originally called King Chinu (Chinnu). In the 4th year of Tenpyō Shōhō, he was given the clan name of Fumimura Mahito, and in the first year of Tenpyō Hōji, he became a councillor. He was promoted to Gyotaifu (Dainagon) and Junior Second Rank. After the death of Emperor Shōtoku, he was recommended to become Crown Prince, but he firmly refused. He died on October 9th, the first year of Hōki. He was 78 years old.

持統天皇7年生まれ。天武天皇の孫。長(ながの)皇子の王子。はじめ智努(ちぬ)王(珍努王)。天平勝宝(てんぴょうしょうほう)4年文室真人(まひと)の氏姓をあたえられ,天平宝字元年参議。御史大夫(ぎょしたいふ)(大納言),従二位にすすむ。称徳天皇の死後,皇太子に推されたが固辞した。宝亀(ほうき)元年10月9日死去。78歳。
