Real name: Shmuel Yosef Halevi Czaczkes. 1966 Nobel Prize in Literature winner. Considered the greatest modern Hebrew writer. First set foot on Palestinian soil in 1907, he went to Germany in 1913 and lectured on Hebrew literature. He returned to Jerusalem in 1924 and has since devoted himself to writing. Many of his works are set against the backdrop of traditional Jewish life and religion, and his writing is full of humor, his thoughts are full of love for humanity, and his writing style is elegant, fully demonstrating the unique aspects of Hebrew culture.
