Yasuhide Fumiya

Years of birth and death unknown. A poet of the early Heian period. One of the Rokkasen or Thirty-six Kasen. Appointed as a Middle Judge of the Ministry of Justice in 860 (Jogan 2), Yamashiro Daijo in 877 (Gangei 1), and Nuidonosuke in 879. In the Kokinshu, there is a poem exchanged with Ono no Komachi when he became Mikawa no Jo, as well as a poem for Emperor Ninmyo's Mikoki (851) and a poem for the Koresada Imperial Family Poetry Contest. The preface to the Kokinshu reads, "He was skilled with words, but his manner was not in keeping with his own abilities. It is as if he had been a good speaker." The following four poems were included in the imperial compilation.
