Pronghorn family, order Even-toed ungulate. Also known as the pronghorn antelope. One family, one genus. Body length 1-1.5m. Reddish brown back, with white spots on the forehead, throat, under the eyes, and lower back. Both males and females have horns of about 25cm. Lives alone or in small groups in summer, and in herds of several hundred in winter. In late summer, males form harems of about 15 animals.
