1857‐1923
Serbian and Yugoslav politician. Together with Pašić and others, he founded the Serbian Radical Party in 1882. In 1883, before the Radical Party led a peasant revolt in the Timoc region, he was arrested for violating the press law. He was re-arrested in 1899, but was pardoned and released the following year. When the Radical Party came to power in 1903, he served as Minister of State and Minister of Finance. He became the first Prime Minister after the founding of the United South Slavic State (Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes), but came into conflict with Pašić, who advocated Serbian-led centralism.

セルビアおよびユーゴスラビアの政治家。パシッチらとともに，1882年にセルビア急進党を創設した。83年，急進党が指導したティモク地方の農民反乱の前に，出版法違反の罪で逮捕された。99年に再逮捕，翌年の恩赦により出獄し，1903年から急進党が政権につくと，国務大臣や大蔵大臣を歴任。南スラブ統一国家(セルビア人クロアチア人スロベニア人王国)建国後初の首相となったが，セルビア主導の中央集権主義を唱えるパシッチと対立。
