Born: July 23, 1892 in Leibach
[Died] June 5, 1974. Altausee Austrian novelist. A military man from a distinguished family, he was taken prisoner by the Russian army during World War I. His most famous works include Die Throne stürzen (1951), which depicts the fall of the Austrian Empire, and Das zwölfjährige Reich (61), a trilogy about the rise and fall of Hitler.
