A river in western Czech Republic. It is a tributary of the Elbe River (Labe) and has a German name of Moldau. It is 430 km long. It originates in the Bohemian Forest, flows north through central Bohemia, and joins the Elbe River about 30 km north of Prague. It is the most important river in the country.
