A feudal lord in the early modern period. He lived in Ichihashi-go, Ikeda County, Mino Province. He served both the Oda and Toyotomi clans, and Nagakatsu was granted 10,000 koku of land under Hideyoshi. After Hideyoshi's death, he joined Tokugawa Ieyasu, and in 1608 (Keicho 13), he was granted 21,300 koku of land in Yabashi, Hoki. Later, he was granted 41,300 koku of land in Sanjo, Echigo, but after Nagakatsu's death in 1620 (Genwa 6), he was granted no heir and his land was confiscated. However, his nephew Nagamasa inherited the family name. He was granted 20,000 koku of land in Omi Ninshoji (later renamed Nishioji). Later, he was granted 3,000 koku of land, which continued until the end of the Edo period. The head of the family was generally appointed to the rank of Shimousa no Kami or Izu no Kami, Junior Fifth Rank. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
