The capital of Barbados. A port city on Carlisle Bay on the southwest coast of Barbados, the eastern tip of the Lesser Antilles in the eastern West Indies. Founded in 1628. The only port of entry in Barbados, it exports sugar, rum, molasses, etc. There are sugar refineries and rum factories. A beautiful English-style town with St. Michael's Cathedral, Trafalgar Square with its statue of Admiral Horatio Nelson, and the 18th century Government Building, it is the tourist center of Barbados.
