Born: December 12, 1864, Buffalo, New York [Died] December 25, 1936. American journalist. Son of social thinker Albert Brisbane. He began as a reporter for the New York Sun in 1883, and later edited the New York World (1890-97), which was run by Pulitzer. From 1897 until his death, he was editor of the New York Journal, where he was in charge of the "Today" column, and played an important role in the so-called "yellow journalism."
