A general term for birds of the passerine order Phytotomidae family. At first glance, they resemble goldfinches or buntings, and have a specialized beak adapted to eating the buds and shoots of plants. This family consists of one genus and three species, all of which are endemic to South America. The Peruvian lacewing Phytotoma raimondi is found in the northwestern coastal areas of Peru. The Chilean lacewing P. rara lives in northern Chile and northern Argentina, and the red-breasted lacewing P. rutila is found in the mountains from western Bolivia to northern Argentina and western Paraguay.

スズメ目クサカリドリ科Phytotomidaeの鳥の総称。一見，ヒワかホオジロ類に似た鳥で，草木の芽，つぼみなどを食べるのに適した特殊なくちばしをもっている。この科は1属3種からなり，いずれも南アメリカの特産。ペルークサカリドリPhytotoma raimondiはペルーの北西部の沿岸地帯に分布する。チリークサカリドリP.raraはチリ北部とアルゼンチン北部にすみ，またアカハラクサカリドリP.rutilaはボリビア西部からアルゼンチン北部の山地とパラグアイ西部に分布する。
