A god in Greek mythology. He possessed a gigantic penis and was worshipped by farmers and shepherds, who believed that he protected fields and livestock from curses and ensured fertility and reproduction. He is usually said to be the son of Aphrodite and Dionysus, and is said to follow Dionysus along with the satyrs and silenuses, but another version says that he was the son of Zeus and Aphrodite, and that a jealous Hera touched the pregnant Aphrodite's belly, turning the fetus inside into a grotesque giant penis.
