Puri
A port city on the Bay of Bengal in the eastern part of the Indian state of Orissa. One of the four major holy sites of Hinduism. The Jagannath Temple (built in the 12th century) dedicated to the god Vishnu and its summer festival are famous. Population: 157,837 (2001).
