Funen [island] - Funen
Denmark's second largest island. It is connected by road and rail to the Jutland Peninsula across the Little Belt to the west, and to Zealand across the Great Belt to the east. It is a low-lying island (highest point 131m) with fertile soil, and dairy farming is the main industry. The main city is Odense. Area: 2,984 km2 . Population: 475,082 (2004).
