It is the central liturgy of Easter, the greatest feast day in the Christian church calendar. It consists of four parts. The first part is a liturgy of light centered around the Easter candle, representing the resurrected Christ as light. The second part is a liturgy of the word that commemorates the history of salvation through Bible readings, focusing on Christ's saving work.
