Nagamori Okabe

Japanese: 岡部長盛 - おかべながもり

1568-1632 A daimyo in the early Edo period.
Born in 1668. The eldest son of Okabe Masatsuna. In 1582, he succeeded to the family headship. He served in the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute, and followed Tokugawa Ieyasu. After serving in the Tanba Kameyama Domain (Kyoto Prefecture) and Fukuchiyama Domain, in 1624 he became the first head of the Okabe family to rule Ogaki Domain in Mino (Gifu Prefecture). He had a fief of 50,000 koku. He was well versed in the tea ceremony. He died on November 2, 1626. He was 65 years old. His other name was Yasutsuna. He was commonly known as Yajiro.

永禄(えいろく)11年生まれ。岡部正綱の長男。天正(てんしょう)12年家督をつぐ。小牧・長久手の戦いに従軍し,徳川家康にしたがう。丹波亀山藩(京都府),福知山藩をへて寛永元年美濃(みの)(岐阜県)大垣藩主岡部家初代となる。5万石。茶道に通じた。寛永9年11月2日死去。65歳。名は別に康綱。通称は弥次郎。
