Code (signature) - Fucho
This refers to secret language used in business transactions for prices, product names, etc. It is a password between traders or within a store, and was used in the past when there was no fixed price sales, when discussing selling prices without customers knowing. The ones used in markets vary depending on the type of business, but words related to the area or words that bring good luck are often used. Examples of words used to express numbers in Osaka (the letters correspond to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, respectively) include "mumesakuramatsutake" at the Tenma vegetable market (located in the Tenjin clan's land, named after Sugawara no Michizane's beloved tree), "Ebisu no warahigah" at an indigo dye merchant, and "sari to omoshiroi" at a fish merchant.
