Year of death: 26 March 1033 (27 April 1033) Year of birth: Owa 3 (963) He was an official in the mid-Heian period. He was the son of Suruga no Kami Koretaka and the daughter of Tomo no Kiyokane. After serving as a local official in Inaba, Kai and other areas, he served as the governor of Dazaifu (Dazaifu City), which controlled all of Kyushu, and returned to Kyoto with treasures from nine provinces and two islands. He was described as a man who was "greedy and had no sense of purpose" (Shogoki). With this wealth, he served as Fujiwara no Michinaga's household steward, and built a residence in a prime location in Kyoto, to the west of Michinaga's Tsuchimikado Palace. In 1016 (Chowa 5), a fire broke out in his own residence, destroying it, but he was put in charge of rebuilding it, completing it two years later. He also built a new residence for himself. In 1024 (Manju 1), he was promoted to Junior Third Rank. One of his daughters became the wet nurse of Emperor Go-Ichijo (Michinaga's grandson by marriage).
