Vieux‐Colombier Theatre (English: Théâtre du Vieux‐Colombier)

A French theater and theatre company. The director Copeau commissioned Francis Jourdan to renovate the Athénée Saint-Germain, which was located on the street of the same name in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, and the theatre opened in October 1913 as a base for theatrical innovation. Bringing together Durand, Jouvet, Tessier and others, the company achieved great success by modernizing classics by Molière, Musset, Shakespeare and others, as well as staging contemporary plays. During World War I, the company toured America, but reopened in October 1920 with the basic concrete stage designed by Jouvet.

フランスの劇場，劇団。パリ6区の同名の通りにあったアテネ･サンジェルマン座を演出家コポーがフランシス･ジュルダンに改装を依頼し，1913年10月に演劇革新の拠点として開場した。デュラン，ジュベ，テシエなどを糾合してモリエール，ミュッセ，シェークスピアなどの古典の現代化と現代劇の上演で大成功を収める。第1次大戦中劇団はアメリカに巡業するが，20年10月にジュベの原案によるコンクリート造りの基本舞台が設置されて再開される。
