The second largest automobile manufacturer in France. Established in 1976 by the merger of Peugeot and Citroën. Under the holding company PSA Peugeot Citroën, it is the second largest automobile manufacturer in France. Peugeot was founded in 1896. Citroën was founded in 1919 and is known for being the first in the world to mass-produce front-wheel drive automobiles. It also has Talbot Motors, which it acquired from Chrysler. In addition to passenger cars and commercial light vans, it also produces automobile parts, motorcycles, and military vehicles. 90% of its sales are in Europe, but in recent years it has been actively expanding into China, Iran, Brazil, and other countries. It has a partnership with Fiat. Peugeot Citroën's sales for the fiscal year ending December 2011 were 59,912 million euros.
