After the establishment of the Kamakura Shogunate, documents in a style created by the samurai government or samurai families, or improved on documents used by nobles. The Kamakura Shogunate first used documents used by nobles, such as kudashibumi and migyosho, and then created a new style of gechijo, a letter of instruction, that could be called a hybrid of the two. These three styles, shimbun, migyosho, and migyosho, all in the form of hosho, became the main documents issued by the Kamakura Shogunate. The migyosho and migyosho issued by the Shogunate were signed by both the regent and the cosigner, and were called Kanto migyosho and Kanto gechijo, while those issued by the Rokuhara Tandai were signed by both the northern and southern tandai, and were called Rokuhara migyosho and Rokuhara gechijo.
