Born June 16, 1877. Older sister of Izawa Ei. In 1904, she became the first woman to pass the Ministry of Education's gymnastics certification exam. In 1908, she became the principal of Tokyo Women's Gymnastics and Music School (now Tokyo Women's College of Physical Education) and built the foundations of the school. She encouraged German gymnastics to create healthy women. She devoted herself to training female physical education instructors. Died January 18, 1955. Age 77. Born in Kagawa Prefecture.
