Fushinosho

Japanese: 椹野荘 - ふしののしょう
Fushinosho
A manor in Yoshiki District, Suo Province (present-day Ogori Town, Yoshiki District, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and the area around Yoshikawa, Yamaguchi City). It was established in the mid-8th century from temple land donated by imperial decree to Todaiji Temple. The manor, which consisted of 91 cho (100 m2) and 6 tan (100 m2) of rice fields, had fallen into disrepair and collapsed by the mid-Heian period, but was restored as temple land in 1196 (Kenkyu 7) at the request of Shunjobo Chogen, the Daikanjinsho (Great Religious Commissioner) who promoted the reconstruction of Todaiji Temple. The annual tax from the manor was used as an offering for the Great Buddha Hall Ryokai Kuyoho (Great Buddha Hall and Great Buddha Hall) and Saisho-ko (Great Buddha Hall and Great Buddha Hall), which were founded in the same year, and the manor was called the Kenmitsu Offering House. From then on, Sotodaiji Temple was the main residence throughout the Kamakura period, and the position of lord was passed on from Chogen to Tonan-in and Nishimuro-in, before returning to Sotodaiji Temple.
