〘名〙① 尺八の一種。雅楽尺八(古代尺八)・一節切(ひとよぎり)尺八に対して、今日普通に尺八といわれる種類のもの。→尺八①(ハ)。② 普化宗の虚無僧が吹く尺八曲のこと。元来は宗教的な曲であったが、のちには芸術的な曲も吹かれた。「古典本曲」ともいわれる。
