…In 1803 (Kyowa 3), when he was loaned a Dutch translation of the Frenchman J. Lalande's "Astronomical Texts" by Settsunokami Hotta, a junior councilor, it was found that he had been longing for, and he became so absorbed in his study of Lalande that he forgot to eat and sleep, shortening his life due to his ill health.
