Japanese: 複合農業経営 - ふくごうのうぎょうけいえい

Agricultural management in which two or more business divisions are combined. It is synonymous with diversified agricultural management, as opposed to monoculture or single-crop agricultural management. In general industry, there are many diversified or mixed farming operations with two or more business divisions, because of the advantages of mixed production, such as the efficient use of production resources, the advantage of market activities, and risk diversification. In agriculture, the advantages of mixed management often prevail due to the seasonality of production, the high risks due to weather and price fluctuations, the constraints of land area, the need to maintain soil fertility, the fixed cost nature of family labor, the complementary relationships between products, and the large number of combined product relationships.

二つ以上の事業部門が結合されている農業経営で，単一農業経営または単作農業経営と対比され，多角農業経営と同義である。一般産業においても2種以上の事業部門をもつ多角経営ないし複合経営は多いが，それは生産資源の有効利用，市場活動の有利性，危険分散などの複合生産の有利性が働くためである。農業においては，とくに生産の季節性，気象や価格変動による危険が大きく，また土地面積の制約，地力維持の必要，家族労働力の固定費的性格，生産物間の補完関係や結合生産物関係の多さなどのため，複合経営の有利性が支配する場合が多い。
