A general term for insects of the genus Acanthoptera, which belongs to the family Locustidae. This genus is a group of several genera that feed on the leaves of dicotyledonous herbaceous plants, and has a bright green body color that closely resembles the color of the leaves they eat. There are many species distributed around the world, but in Japan, the genera Acanthoptera, Acanthoptera, and Acanthoptera can be found.
