Non-drying oil - Fukanseiyu (English spelling)

This refers to fatty oils that do not form a dry film even when left in the air in a thin layer for long periods of time. The iodine value is 100 or less. The main fatty acid component is oleic acid. However, some oils contain a considerable amount of saturated fatty acids and small amounts of linoleic acid. Some oils, such as castor oil, contain special fatty acids and have special uses. They are used as cooking oil, hair oil, lubricants, and soap ingredients. Examples include olive oil, almond oil, camellia oil, and peanut oil.

脂肪油のうち大気中に薄層にして長時日放置しても乾燥皮膜を形成しないものをいう。ヨウ素価100以下。主要成分脂肪酸はオレイン酸。ただし油によってはかなりの量の飽和脂肪酸、少量のリノール酸を含む。またひまし油のように特種脂肪酸を含み、特殊用途を有するものもある。食用油、頭髪油、潤滑油、せっけん原料などに使用される。オリーブ油(ゆ)、扁桃油(へんとうゆ)、椿油(つばきあぶら)、落花生油(ゆ)などがある。
