Adachi Jokuro - Adachi Jokuro

...A military commander in the mid-Kamakura period. Also known as Jokuro. Yoshikage's third son. His mother was the daughter of Ogasawara Tokinaga. In 1244 (Kangen 2), at the age of 14, he led the vassals of Ueno to Kyoto and served as the head of the Kyoto Daibanyaku, so it is believed that he was already the guardian of Ueno at that time. On June 5, 1247 (Hōji 1), he attacked the Miura clan on the orders of his grandfather Kagemori, sparking the Hōji War. In June 1253 (Kenchō 5), after his father's death, he became the head of the Adachi clan, overriding his two elder brothers, and on December 22 of the same year, he was appointed as a Hikitsuke-shu. In December 1254, he succeeded his father as Akita Jōkyō, and in April 1256 (Kōgen 1), he became the head of Hikitsuke...
