A pass on the border between Kyoto City and Nantan City in central Kyoto Prefecture. It is about 550m above sea level. It forms the watershed between the Yura River system, which flows into the Sea of Japan, and the Yodo River system, which flows into Osaka Bay. National Route 162 (Shuzan Kaido), which connects Kyoto and Wakasa, passes through a tunnel under the pass.
