Another name for Ferdinand I of Naples. Reigned 1458-94. He was the illegitimate son of Alfonso I (Alfonso V), who had been King of Aragon, Sicily and Naples. He succeeded his father in 1458, but had to fight against the great noble families (Barone) who ruled the country, and also had to eliminate the interference of the Valois Angevins, who claimed the throne, and the Pope who supported them. He worked to restore order in the country and promote culture. He rebuilt the University of Naples, which had not functioned for a long time.

ナポリ王フェルディナンド1世の別名。在位1458‐94年。アラゴン王からシチリア王，ナポリ王となったアルフォンソ1世(アルフォンソ5世)の庶子。1458年に父王の後を継いだが，国内に割拠する大貴族層(バローネ)と戦い，さらに王位を主張するバロア系アンジュー家とそれを支援する教皇の干渉を排除しなければならなかった。国家秩序の再建に努力し，文化の振興に努めた。永らく機能していなかったナポリ大学を再建した。
