Hikami [town] - Hikami

Japanese: 氷上[町] - ひかみ

An old town in Hikami County, central Hyogo Prefecture. Its center is a small basin on the Saji River, upstream of the Kako River, and the main settlement, Narimatsu, once prospered through water transportation on the Kako River. In addition to rice cultivation along the river, dairy farming, poultry farming, and the cultivation of vegetables, flowers, and ornamental trees are also carried out. There is also a textile factory that produces sportswear and other products. In November 2004, it merged with the towns of Kashiwabara, Aogaki, Kasuga, Yamanami, and Ichijima in Hikami County to become a city, Tamba City. Area: 110.14 ^km2 . Population: 19,302 (2003).

兵庫県中部，氷上郡の旧町。中心は，加古川の上流佐治川の小盆地で，主集落成松はかつて加古川水運で繁栄。川沿いでの米作のほか酪農，養鶏，野菜・花卉(かき)・花木を栽培。スポーツウェアなどの繊維工場もある。2004年11月氷上郡柏原町，青垣町，春日町，山南町，市島町と合併し市制，丹波市となる。110.14km²。１万9302人（2003）。
