After the Oei invasions (1419), he served as an interpreter when Mugai Ryogei traveled to Korea as an envoy from Japan. He first came to Japan in 1427 accompanied by the envoy Song Xikei, and visited Japan frequently until around 1430, reporting to Korea about the state of affairs and customs of Japan.
