Giovanni Boine

Giovanni Boine

Italian Catholic writer. He risked his short, sickly life to overcome the suffering of intellectuals after World War I by striving for absolute religious and philosophical goodness. His representative works are the novels "Sin" (1914) and "Shards" (1918). After being strongly influenced by the magazine "Voce" and the philosopher Croce, and then estranged from them, his literary attitude was permeated with a sharp criticality based on the spirit of the times that went beyond his general assessment as a writer with mystical tendencies.
