A commentary on annual events mainly in Kyoto in the early Edo period. 12 volumes, 12 books. Edited by Kurokawa Doyu. Preface by Hayashi Gaho, 1676. Each month is divided into sections on festival prefaces, religious rites, official events, personnel matters, anniversaries of deaths, Buddhist services, and public viewings, explaining the origins and current status of the events. It is notable for its active inclusion of folk customs and events. As some of the religious rites and ceremonies were supposedly not open to the public, the book was discontinued shortly after publication, but was later republished with some changes. Included in the Shinshu Kyoto Sōshō and the Nihon Shimin Seisatsu Shiryō. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
