Also known as the Islamic calendar. A calendar used in Islamic countries. Currently the only purely lunar calendar, it has 354 days in a normal year (12 months with alternating long months of 30 days and short months of 29 days), and 355 days in a leap year (two long months in a row). The beginning of the year moves regardless of the season, and returns to the original date after about 33 years.
