Nangen - Nangen

A city located in the southern part of Jeollabuk-do, South Korea (Republic of Korea). It has an area of ​​752.76 square kilometers and a population of 94,810 (2000). It was elevated from a town to a city in 1981, and merged with Namwon County in 1995. It is a key inland transportation point with six roads passing through it. Agriculture and commerce are thriving, as are raw silk processing and tobacco manufacturing. Many tourists visit Gwanghalnu and Chunhyanggak, which are associated with the classic novel "Chunhyangjeon." There are city administrative offices, the Namwon branch of the Jeonju District Court, a broadcasting station, a library, a cultural center, and a traditional Korean music center.
