Photographic paper - Ingashi (English spelling)
Photographic paper that creates a positive image from a negative through printing and development. There are contact printing papers with slow-sensitive silver chloride emulsions (gaslight paper), enlargement printing papers with fast-sensitive silver bromide emulsions (bromide paper), and enlargement printing papers with intermediate sensitivity between the two, with color printing papers also being widely used today. Albumen paper from the early days of photography, POP, and Aristo Platinum Paper are printing papers (→print-out printing papers) in which gelatin or collodion emulsion is applied to the base paper. In recent years, both sides of the support paper are increasingly coated with polyethylene. This type of printing paper has the advantage that it does not absorb water, so washing and drying times are short and development can be done quickly. With the spread of digital cameras, the number of types of printing paper is decreasing, as is the case with photographic film.
