A legal term. The transfer of possession based on the agreement of the parties. As for delivery, not only actual delivery (Civil Code Article 182, Paragraph 1) but also conceptual delivery is recognized. Simplified delivery, for example, when a lessor transfers ownership of a leased property to a lessee and delivers it, does not require the lessor to first take back the leased property and then make an actual delivery again. If the person receiving the delivery is actually in possession, the delivery is deemed to have occurred simply by the expression of intent of the parties (Civil Code Article 182, Paragraph 2), as well as change of possession (Article 183) and delivery by instruction (Article 184).

法律用語。当事者の合意に基づく占有の移転。引渡しとしては，現実の引渡し (民法 182条1項) だけでなく，観念的な引渡しを認めている。簡易の引渡し，たとえば賃貸人が賃貸物の所有権を賃借人に譲渡して引渡すには，賃貸人がいったん賃貸物を取戻したうえ，あらためて現実の引渡しをするような手間を省いて，引渡しを受ける者が現実に占有しているときは，単に当事者の意思表示だけで引渡しがあったものと認められること (同条2項) ，および占有改定 (183条) ，指図による引渡し (184条) がそれである。
