Born: 1480/1491. Vicenza Died around 1534. Italian navigator. He joined F. Magellan on his circumnavigation of the world, leaving Seville in 1519 and returning safely to the United States in 1522. He left behind a valuable record of this voyage, which was later translated into various languages and published.
