Ayo, F. - Ayo

...Their performances were full of bright tones and fresh expressions, and their performance of Vivaldi's Four Seasons in particular led to a re-evaluation of Vivaldi and was a pioneer of today's Baroque music trends. The orchestra does not have a conductor, but instead focuses on concertmasters. The first such person was Felix Ayo (1933- ), from Spain, who devoted himself to the development of the orchestra until his retirement in 1968. Although their repertoire is mainly Baroque music, they also perform classical pieces such as those by Mozart.
