Born in 1772. The 40th head of the Ikenobo family. Grandson of Ikenobo Senjun. A monk at Chohoji Temple (Rokkakudo) in Kyoto. Following in the footsteps of Ikenobo Senko, he established the style of Ikebana and worked to establish the Iemoto system. He studied under Ganku and excelled in painting. He passed away on September 7, 1830, at the age of 64. His pen names were Hyōan and Chishunkan. His edited works include Heika Yodōshū and Hyakuki Ikebana.
